A SPOT LIGHT CHALLENGE for the local 2020 election

See how many of the local candidates currently seeking office or running for re-election have previously held public office for more than 8 years.

What was their actions and performance during those periods when black people faced obvious oppressive conditions?

What was their measurable efforts on the record to mitigate the devastating impacts?

What are they doing now?

Hold their records up against our misery and see as a black citizen if you still want to vote for them.

Don’t be Bamboozled

Don't be Bamboozled 5

Black folks let me be clear. If you for vote Earl Blumenauer or Sam Adams you are voting for a politician who have reigned over your demise and the co-polictians who endorse them are co-enablers. I am calling out JoAnn Hardesty who knows Earl ain’t done Sh*t and knows Sam Adams has played the black community like a fiddle. Mayor Wheeler who JoAnn endorsed, I thought was going to be different, but has very poor discernment about the black community and keeps aligning himself with dis-honest characters who are yes people for his agenda. He plays to our community’s greatest weakness and is always looking for “Yes People” to back his halfhearted attempts to address issues in our community.  He is weak like his predecessor Charlie “Weak Ass” Hales. Do yourself and our community a favor and don’t vote for any of these people. Vote for anybody else. Hit me up on my Blog .”BPAreport.com” if you want my recommendations for this election….

Illusion of Progress

Illusion of Progress 9Illusion of Progress 10

Oh, how I miss William Raspberry. We could use his genius intellectual journalism right about now. I hope we will use his yardstick to measure candidates in the coming election. Some of today’s candidates have been in office almost since Raspberry wrote this article. Despite the clear lack of progress for most black people we still have black gatekeepers running around providing interference for incumbent politicians. These politicians are killing us with their superficial “I feel your pain” liberal do-nothing performance in office. Earl Blumenauer comes to mind. We have a choice. We don’t have to continue voting for these milk toast mainly white guys who have been playing us for decades. In this coming election, we can vote for Albert Lee who dares to challenge the status quo. If we do otherwise, I expect we will be voting for at least 2 more years of William Raspberry’s description of an “Illusion of Progress”Illusion of Progress 11

For Me Pure Political Anguish

For Me Pure Political Anguish 13

Elizabeth Warren is out and I am sad because she represented the best of all the candidates running for President of these United States of America. Why? Because she has “Balls”. But not only does she have “Balls”, but of all the candidates, she combined intelligence with compassion rarely seen in any politician. And unlike some of the other candidates, she carried her own water. She wasn’t dependent on Obama or anybody else to make her case. She had the most authentic combination of strength and humility wrapped in a deep sense of fairness for those oppressed by the current system. Her work on the Consumer Protection law has demonstrated the capacity to challenge the system and win. Sadly, America lost out today because it passed on an opportunity to select the most overall capable person to lead the country. She tried to take the middle lane but her calculation did not fully take into account how Trump has traumatized the country and poisoned the well.  After Trump, the country is choosing safety and conformality over challenge and change. But for the sake of us all, I hope she continues to do what she is noted for, the courage to “Persist”.

NAACP Illegal Attempt to Purge

NAACP Illegal Attempt to Purge 20

Tired of the impeachment saga? You don’t have to look at Trump as the only example of tyrannical, narcissistic, unscrupulous, incompetent people pretending to be in leadership. Look at what the local NAACP branch just sent several of us members in disagreement with the current leadership. Never mind they have no authority to purge the membership but it is also apparent they have never read the Bylaws, Hopefully, people in this town will help contain this Trump-like disease.

BLACKS ON THE PODIUM AND FRONT ROLL

BLACKS ON THE PODIUM AND FRONT ROLL 25

It was a pure joy for me on Thursday to see Black People large and in charge (on the front roll) at the dedication of the TRI-Met Division Street Improvement project. Raimore Construction was awarded the largest contract ever for a Black firm in the history of Oregon construction procurements (87 million dollars). Paraphrasing the owner, Jeff Moreland as he spoke to the large group of attendees, “As you look around, you’ll notice we are not seeking diversity, WE ARE DIVERSITY.” In truth Raimore sets a new standard for any minority or non-minority construction firm seeking to demonstrate diversity. And he certainly puts to shame those so-called black firms who only employ one or two black employees and contributes virtually nothing back to the black community. The HEAT IS ON.

Are you Serious on Dr. Martin Luther Kings Birthday?

Are you Serious on Dr. Martin Luther Kings Birthday? 27

Are you serious? The best thing a Brother or Sister can do on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday is do what I did: Write a check to the Jamie Harrison running against Lindsey Graham for the US Senate in South Carolina, Amy McGrath for the US Senate in Kentucky against Mitch McConnell (Moscow Mitch) and Mark Kelly for the US Senate in Arizona against Martha McSally. Talk is cheap but money talks.  While you are at it, give Malcolm a little credit on this day.
